Patients with rhinitis have the risk of other symptoms, such as irritability, daytime drowsiness and concentration disorders. These things happen because the night’s sleep is disturbed by a stuffy or runny nose. If rhinitis occurs in people with asthma, then the asthma may get worse or often recur.
In addition to some of the above mentioned problems or health problems, rhinitis is also at risk of developing complications as described below.
The Common sinus infection symptoms
Sinus infection or inflammation caused by rhinitis and this condition is a common complication of rhinitis. This occurs because the snot produced by the sinuses naturally cannot flow into the nose through the small channels as usual due to blockage of the channel.
Sinus infection symptoms such as toothache, fever, stuffy or runny nose, and severe pain around the eyes, forehead or cheeks can be treated with pain medication such as ibuprofen, aspirin or paracetamol. If the sinus is infected with bacteria, it is advisable to take antibiotics to be prescribed by a doctor.
Be sure to read the instructions on the packaging before taking the drugs mentioned because they are not all suitable or allowed to drink. For example, patients with peptic ulcers or asthma are not advised to take ibuprofen and aspirin should not be consumed by children under the age of 16.
Surgery may be needed to correct sinus drainage if the sinusitis is sufficiently long or chronic.
